What we don't see a whole lot of is the actual jungle cruise the characters are set to embark on, but there's just enough here to hint that the trip will turn supernatural with help from an ancient curse.

Joachim diverts the river to flood the cave and Aguirre and his conquistadors are reanimated while fused with rainforest elements.
